Hello all! Take a look at the pictures of my crèche above. This is Sunflower Educare! We have about 50 students between the two classrooms and one outdoor area. Space is very limited in Vrygrond. As you can see the environment is functional, but there is much room for improvement.
The two others are Tessa and Wendy my crèche-mates. I can't tell you enough how wonderful these two have been. They are alumni from the program and have been so insightful and have graciously shared their knowledge with me throughout the entire experience.
We managed to get a picture with some kids and their teacher, Eleanor. She is a hard-working and strong, and is the person with whom we work closest.
The lady holding the baby is Yvonne, the principal.
After that are a few pictures from the renovation project we are working on. Today we mixed cement to level off a walkway and then painted the street-side exterior of the building. Others put walls up on the interior. We're getting ready to paint the inside!
Tomorrow I'm going to the store to buy materials for the children. I'm excited to see what we can get! The final total for donations is $580!! I'm excited to see what we can pick up!
John, I am speechless? With my repertoire of words I still cannot find the right ones. You are doing a good thing. More than a good thing. And you seem to be loving it. Your friends look sincere and caring. And the students have really taken to you or like to be photographed.! I am so impressed. You are exceptional and it warms my heart . Hugs, Mom
